Three Ireland appoints new Data Protection Officer and Senior Regulatory Counsel

Dublin, 2nd July 2024. Three, Ireland’s largest telecommunications provider, announces the appointment of Deirdre Ardagh as Three Ireland’s Data Protection Officer and Senior Regulatory Counsel.

Deirdre provides in-house counsel on matters of data protection and regulation and is deeply engaged in fostering a compliance-driven culture while steering strategic growth initiatives. Deirdre works closely with her counterparts across CK Hutchinson in the data protection and privacy field, regularly engaging on privacy projects, GDPR compliance and AI governance. 

Externally, Deirdre represents Three Ireland before regulatory bodies, in both policy development and legal matters. With many years of experience, as both a barrister and a solicitor, Deirdre provides timely legal counsel on data protection, commercial law, and regulatory compliance.  

Prior to her appointment, Deirdre acted as Senior Privacy and Public Policy Counsel at Three Ireland, was formerly a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial Law team with Sherwin O’Riordan as well as having worked in the area of EU Regulatory Affairs with IDA Ireland.

Deirdre holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from University College Dublin, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from The Institute of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Law Degree from The Honourable Society of King’s Inn. As a practicing solicitor, Deirdre is a member of the Law Society of Ireland.
