Laois, 17th August 2024: As this year’s Electric Picnic continues at Stradbally Hall, five up and coming musicians made their mark today by debuting an incredible collaborative show on the Three Music Stage this afternoon.

The Three City Stages Collective, Ava McKechnie, Brinda Irani, Dave Lofts, Jamie McIntyre and Tadhg Nolan, are comprised of five buskers who have taken part in Three’s City Stages initiative over the past 18 months. The group of young musicians were given the opportunity by Three to take their talent from the city streets to the big stage at Ireland’s largest festival.

Ahead of the set, radio personality Fergal D’Arcy, warmed up the crowd before Galway songwriter Jamie McIntyre kicked things off with his own song, “Over Galway Town”, fast becoming a viral hit reaching over 140,000 streams in just 3 weeks. The set continued with the 5 acts each producing incredible performances which featured a mix of reimagined songs by well-known artists such as Kings of Leon, Rihanna and Radiohead alongside original songs written by the City Stages stars. The show was brought to a close with a group rendition of Irish band The Script’s “Breakeven” leading to rapturous applause from the capacity crowd.

To prepare for the show, the group rehearsed under the tutelage of one of Ireland’s most loved and revered performers Imelda May (who sent the group a good luck message before they took to the stage), alongside Camden Recording Studios MD Cian Boylan and a 12 piece band of accomplished touring musicians who have graced the stage with global music stars such as Van Morrison, Sting, Brandon Flowers and Paolo Nutini.

Spotted in the crowd enjoying the talented group of up and comers were social media stars Kayleigh Trappe, Rachel Foster and Brandon Caulfield who were seen dancing and singing along with the young performers.

While there is still much more to come in Stradbally this weekend, tickets for next year’s three day extravaganza will go on sale in the days after the festival wraps. Three customers can get their hands on tickets first with the exclusive Three+ presale going live at 9am this Monday, 19th August.
